Thunderlord is an Exotic Machine Gun that deals Arc damage, introduced in Destiny. Its unique traits allow it to fire faster and more steadily the longer the trigger is held, and to generate lightning strikes from above upon sustained fire and kills.
In Destiny, Thunderlord is earned as a random world drop. The weapon was absent from Destiny 2 at launch, as well as any Machine Gun, as the weapon type didn't make it into the sequel. However, during Season of the Outlaw, the Thunderlord was reprised as the first Machine Gun in the game via a quest that took place during Festival of the Lost 2018. This was initially the only way to obtain the weapon, but sometime after the event had ended, rendering the quest unobtainable, the weapon was introduced to the world loot pool as a potential Exotic drop.

Customized with an experimental induction core, the Thunderlord is a heavy machine gun built for the delivery of sustained punishment. The weapon's history and mechanism are both shrouded in ritualistic awe. Each round fired is another word in the legend - and the Guardians who bear the Thunderlord will be immortalized in song. |
