The Witch Queen is the sixth paid expansion to Destiny 2, released on February 22, 2022.[1] It is the second part in a tetralogy of expansions to Destiny 2, which comprises Destiny's Age of Darkness and will complete the franchise's first saga, the Light and Dark Saga.
This expansion pits players against the long-anticipated Hive goddess, Savathûn, the Witch Queen, who has somehow harnessed the Light and is blessing her brood with its power. These Lucent Hive, equipped with Hive Ghosts, assume roles similar to that of the Titan, Hunter, and Warlock, and fight using abilities Arc, Solar, and Void abilities familiar to Guardians. With the help of Ikora Rey, Guardians invade Savathûn's Throne World in an attempt to put a stop to the witch's schemes once and for all.
