Oryx, the Taken King was the king of the Hive and creator of the Taken.
In retaliation to Crota's death, Oryx ventured to Sol with intent to challenge that which was capable of defeating his son, the Guardians, beginning the Taken War. The Guardian would eventually banish Oryx to his throne world deep within the Dreadnaught, upon which a team of six Guardians followed in pursuit, striking him down permanently.
After Oryx's death, Eris Morn would assist the Guardian in practicing sword logic by crafting a weapon from Oryx's remains, and those of his underlings, to produce the Touch of Malice, an Exotic Scout Rifle.
