Oryx, the Taken King was the king of the Hive and creator of the Taken.
Upon Crota's death, Oryx arrived in Sol to challenge what would have been capable of felling his son, humanity; the Guardians, beginning the Taken War. The Guardian would eventually banish Oryx to his throne world deep within the Dreadnaught, following him in with a fireteam of five other Guardians to strike him down permanently.
After Oryx's death, Eris Morn would assist the Guardian in practicing sword logic by crafting a weapon from Oryx's remains, and those of his underlings, to produce the Touch of Malice, an Exotic Scout Rifle.
