The Destiny Ghost Edition is the premier special edition release of Destiny. It was revealed and put up for preorder on July 7, 2014,[2] priced at $149.99 USD.[1] Its release would coincide with that of the game on September 9, 2014. The Ghost Edition's namesake is derived from the included Ghost replica, which is roughly 1:1 in scale and posesses electronic features.
There were four variants of the Ghost Edition, one for each of the platforms Destiny was playable on at release. This included the Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One, and PS4. Each featured a differing slip cover, with the top front designating which console the edition was for. Otherwise, each set was identical, with the exception of the included SteelBook case, as Xbox 360 game cases are taller than those for the PS3, Xbox One, and PS4.
As explained in the November 20, 2014 Bungie weekly update, the exclusive EV-30 Tumbler Legendary Sparrow would be gifted to players who had purchased any of Destiny special edition releases or its expansion pass.[3] It was also available to players who purchased The Dark Below à la carte as of its launch on December 9, 2014.[3]
