— Destiny 2: Shadowkeep Collector's Edition |
The Destiny 2: Shadowkeep Collector's Edition is the special edition release of Shadowkeep. It became available for preorder exclusively on the Bungie Store in June 2019, slated to ship alongside the release of the expansion. Initially, this was September 17, 2019, but once Shadowkeep was delayed, the collector's edition was pushed back a few weeks to arrive closer to the expansion's new launch date of October 1, 2019. Two variants were available, one which would include a digital code for the Shadowkeep Digital Deluxe Edition, and one which only included the collector's items. These versions sold for $149.99 USD and $89.99 USD respectively.[2]
The collector's edition sold out soon after it was available for preorder. After months of being out of stock, and eventually being removed from the site entirely, it would return in limited stock for the Bungie Store's Black Friday 2019 sale. After which, the collector's edition subsequently fell out of stock once more, within a week of its restocking.
The contents of the Shadowkeep collector's edition focused heavily on the new K1 mission iconography and lore introduced to the game with the expansion. This can be seen in the Metal Luna Mission Container, which holds nearly all of the collector's edition's contents upon receiving it. The container features a drawer which slides out, and holds shut via magnets when closed. Inside is stored the Luna Mission Handbook, the Artifacts from the Golden Age, and the Luna Journal. The handbook describes the goals and equipment associated with the K1 mission from an in-universe perspective. Included in the Artifacts from the Golden Age set are postcards, a First Light sticker, and a K1 patch. The Luna Journal contains writing from the perspective of a scientist from the K1 crew, telling of their descent into madness as the influence of the Darkness falls over them. Also included in the box is a card containing a unique code for the K1 Revelation Emblem.
The Hive Cryptoglyph replica serves as the main item of the set, and is inspired by the events of the Shadowkeep campaign. It also features a hidden puzzle, which allows the replica to open upon being solved. Inside is a unique nine-digit code for the Cryptologist Emblem.
As for digital items, each version of the Shadowkeep collector's edition includes with purchase a download of the Destiny 2: Shadowkeep Original Soundtrack.[1] The option to purchase variants of the collector's edition for either Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC including a game code for the Shadowkeep Digital Deluxe Edition was also present.[2] Any digital items would be delivered via email on or before October 1, 2019.[3]
